thoughts on the journey from “the already” to the “not yet”
“To reflect the divine image means standing between heaven and earth, even in the present time, adoring the Creator and bringing His purposes into reality on earth, ahead of the time when God completes
the task and makes all things new.” - N.T. Wright
Thanks for stopping by! My name is Malissa and this is space to share my work, my writing and some of the things I’m most passionate about…
My Work
Cru City
I have been on staff with Cru since I graduated from college in 1997. I worked with the Campus Ministry for 18 years and then, with a growing passion for helping people navigate faith and work after graduation, I transitioned to working with our City Ministry in 2015.
Faith & Work Chicago
I have directed the ministry of Faith & Work Chicago since 2017 in partnership with Cru and Holy Trinity Church. We believe the gospel impacts every area of life and we desire to equip Christ followers to live their faith in the context of their everyday work for the good of the city to the glory of God.
The Institute
With a desire to equip practicing disciples for life and service in the city, I helped launch the Holy Trinity Institute for Discipleship and Mission in 2021. This is our adult discipleship platform to make robust biblical and theological training available to the whole church.
My Writing
Let’s be honest, I was a biology major at a liberal arts college. I’ve always loved literature, history, and philosophy just as much as the sciences. I’ve been writing more in this season and have published pieces on other sites, but here they can live under one roof...
My Favorites
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” - Rev 21:5
